Default a couple of hours and some fresh aire

forgive the pun

the water looked low, a good foot or so down... in need of some rain. way too much rock snot for my liking, its really suffocating the river, such a shame.

found this bullhead washed up

"Way too much rock snot"; I was looking at the same view myself this afternoon and thinking exactly the same thing.

The river looked a real funny bluey / greyish colour to me and there was absolutely nothing rising, which is highly unusual?

Cracking fish though; well done.

cheers steve. there were plenty of fish rising, the colour looked ok, perhaps there was an algael problem where you were?

its not looking good though it was bad last season and it seems to be much worse and its early in the season, I can only imagine what it is doing to the wee beasties that the trout survive on.

I was actually looking at the stretch where you were, unless I am very mistaken, (allotments on RHS, a road bridge behind and a very steep and difficult access on LHS), I fish it myself as it's only 2 mins from my home.

It needs a good flush through but I still worry about what is coming into the river from upstream.

I think you are right... if your left and right are facing upstream then yep!!!

I dont blame you for fishing it it seems nicer than most bits of the aire I know. hell ive probably seen you down there!!! I cant see the algae doing any good for spawning grounds either, which means more stockies
