Default First trip to the tweed

had a go at the peebles stretch today my first outing this year, absolutely froze my knackers off but thankfully the hospital did a good job of reattaching them

the tweed is a beautiful river, gin clear water and clean gravel, not to mention the bright green streamer weed. took a few pics and managed a 1 1/4 lb brownie at last knockings:

Great bit of river that eh ? great scenery and Neidpath Castle looks amazing up on the hill last time i was there (september) we had a few brownies but the weather was brutal, current is pretty strong as well, when i first went in i s**t myself, looked quite slow but just about took me away

If you walk about 2 miles up stream there is a cracking pool where the two rivers meet (lyne & tweed), holds a lot of fish and is well worth the walk up

Nice photos

Default Tweed on Tuesday

Hi Jonnie

What delightful photos - I'd come on here wondering whether you had made it to the river and wasn't disappointed. Rather you than me, from your description of the wading (and the interesting operation on your most cherished bits of anatomy) - thermals are winging their way to me so my next trip shouldn't be so painful.

Trish

The 2nd picture down of the large rock, in the late 30's early 40's there was a diving board fixed to it. The pool has long since filled with gravel, but it's where many locals learnt to swim.
