Default cold snap Pen-y-fan pond

Club water open all year i was told

Adults and children have been walking right across the lake
there have even been on there on quod bikes.

Ialso went up cantref riding centre the weekend with my boy
this weekend up the brecon beacons.
these ducks wasnt very happy.

there is a river walk up there so we had a quick stroll
a tributry of the usk i think any body knowits name?

Hi Claw,

Brrrrr......the pond looks quite chilly, dry fly conditions me thinks

On a serious note....I think the Council should be made aware that people are walking over the ice (if they're not already) and at least put up signs warning people of the dangers (especially using Quad bikes )

If Your photo is of the stream running down the valley from the Storey Arms towards Brecon, then that is the River Tarell, some of which is controlled by Merthy A.C.

Hi BUSHY,
The Council have stuck 2 signs up warninig of thin ice
it took 3 council workers to stick them up with tape.

The nearest stream to the riding centre is Nant Menasgin. It is the one that goes through/past Llanfrynach.

If on the other hand you are talking about a stream nearer Pen-y-fan, it is most likely Nant Sere or Nant Cynwyn, both of which drain into the Afon Cynrig, that in turn drains into the Usk. Nant Menasgin goes directly into the Usk I think.

Gander is correct with Nant Menasgin a direct tributary of the Usk, and one that has received the attention of WUF improvements. I was a few valleys SE of you exploring the Rhiangoll valley and boy was it chilly there too.
