Default Winter Comes To Naworth

This fishery is about 9 miles from Carlisle; it is mixed, worm and fly; about 8 acres, with a large island in the centre. First pic. shows about 1/4 of the front half of the lake; then my two-fish bag limit on a 4-hour ticket ( I prefer the 'straight' rainbows, but it's compulsory kill for the first two fish, then CandR, and the rest were all golden 'bows) taken Friday. Third pic, same jetty, frosted over Saturday morning; then a view down the LH end of the island, showing ice at the back of the lake, after the sun came out.
Recent big fish week, which I missed, produced a 15lb fish. Out of 12 tagged fish released, only one was caught, rest qualify for comp until March, I understand. On Saturday, I watched anglers dragging fish over the ice to land them. Both days, fly beat bait. TC
