Hi Jim
Yes, we had that discussion at the waterside with David, the owner and several of the other anglers on the day. The photo doesn't do it much justice, there was a lot of Blue/Pale Blue colouring right down to the belly of the fish, however even the brownie that Dave watched me catch/release was VERY silvery looking, something to do with the water (pH or something maybe?) I reckon; Helwith is a flooded quarry.
The other fish I caught were rainbows with quite different marking+ colouring. I suppose since David stocked 'em in the first place, he'd know....
I don't really mind, whatever it is, I'm happy with it
Dave

Hi' I was inclined to agree with Jim, as I have a lot of time for his observations, but on studying the fish, concentrate on the head, look at Jim's very obvious blue, and compare the head colouring. Now, I am inclined to say 'Blue'. I think that the quality of the light and the angle at which the fish is held might have something to do with the confusion. Cheers, All, TerryC

very nice fish mate, and to get it on your own flies makes it even more special, did it give you a good fight, have only ever had small blues around 1lb 8oz and they are hard enough fighting
