Default Dever Springs

Hi all,

I'm a new member and have figued out how to post photos as you may have seen from my earler post Southern / Surrey FFF Meet Albury Oct 5th .

My mate Kevin and I went to Dever Springs last February and had a fab day, very very cold when first arrived but as the sun came up, it warmed us up a little.

Here's a few pics when first arrived

Now the fishing

Yours truly with a 7lber, in the winter these fish are very hard fighting

We ended up the day with 3 fish each (1x 6lb, 2 x 7lb, 2 x 8lb and 1x 9b), a fine pub lunch from just down the road

If you havn't been, worth a visit providing its a fine day so you can stalk the fish and catch the one's you want otherwise, it is an expensive day catching stockies (although the stockies are from 5lb upwards!)

We also went in September and had another good day but nothing huge came out for us. That day was cloudly and hard to nearly impossible to stalk fish so we ended up having an expensive day catching stockies

(All the pics were taken on a Nikon D300 with either 70-200VR 2.8 or 17-55mm 2.8)
Hope you like the pics

Beautiful, especially the frost and mist.

Definitely a juvenille mute swan, ie signet.

I agree, when its frosty and sunny, its beautiful to be outside but when its lashing down like it was last week, it's not much fun usless you are catching! Such a shame it wan't like this last week!

You are correct, it was a signet although the photo was shot with the sun behind the swan and at a long distance, hence the white of its feathers hasn't come out too well.

Thanks all for the comments!
