Default Where my fishing started

This lake was made about 5 years ago when my uncle bought his house. The house had a small pond which my uncle mad a lot larger.

This is where i began my fishing with a cheap floatfishing rod and reel from argos, which i caught some nice tench with, nothing massive.

I'm pretty lucky as me and my granddad are the only ones that fish this lake so we have it all to our selves. There are gudgeon, carp, bream, tench, rudd and some decent roach. This fish aren't massive the biggest carp i've had was just under 7lb.

Hi,

Nice pics but more importantly, how envious am I! I would have loved my Grandad to build a lake and bridge in my garden!

Good luck with the fishing and hope the fish get bigger

thanks, for the replies. The fish in these pictures were all caught coarse fishing, but since i started fly fishing last year i've had a few carp and roach on the fly, carp are great on dries and don't half put up a fight. I'll probably be going this weekend so hopefully i'll get a few

I really enjoyed these pics - is that a golden tench? - many years ago I used to fish a little pool just outside Macclesfield. It was full of big Crucian and Rudd. Fly rod & line with a single caster... just lethal Wonderful sport on a June evening.

Some cracking photos there. what a nice thing to have had in childhood. Maybe a few more people can post pictures of where they first fished. If you've ever been to sportfish in Theale and seen the little brook that runs beside it then you already know the place i started at.
cheers
Al.
