Default NW Scotland Part 3

Last of the threads now.

Took my float tube up with me with the intention of seeing how easy it was to carry the gear up to remote lochs. Never again

The backpack probably weighed about 65-70 pounds and even heavier on the way back with the wet materials! I'm used to sticking a box of flies and a spool of line in my pocket when I go out so this was a no win situation for me. It got me out into the loch but I caught even less than I usually what with the time it took getting there and setting it up.

The "easy" way. About 2 mile there over a hill and bogs and heather.

The destination. Any ideas?

Ended up all the way down the loch with only a couple of small brownies to show so carried it over to the next loch.

Hadn't rained in 6 weeks previous to our visit and the rivers were showing it.

Lovely sight to end the day.

Fantastic time was had by both me and the wife and the wind was good and steady to keep the dreaded midges away.
No salmon or sea trout though and the nearby rivers were so low you could walk over them easily. Phoned the day I got back home and there was a bit of rain but wasn't enough.
Hope you all liked the photos, will be more showing the flies that were sucessful.

Plodger.

Being Scottish there's nothing wrong with it, I just can't bloody spell it

By the way this is the house where I was brought up. There is a burn either side of it which joins below the house and meanders slowly 3 miles to the sea. This is isolation with a huge area of lochs within a short walk. No wonder I love fishing

That is the sea in the distance, the camera didn't pick it up very well.

Nice photos! Its been so dry up there this year whist we've been underwater down here. I was on Loch Ailsh a while back but the river was so dry there were no migratories coming in sadly.
