I love the blues me...... Nice one Kcon, there is quite a number of argullus on the fish though mate, might be a good idea to disinfect your landing net before visiting another fishery, just to be on the safe side.

Heres a coupla blues that I caught from Portmore and the Lake of Menteith.

Just wondering would these argulus be able to kill a fish? as there are a few dead fish about, and the owners put it down to the summer heat or C&R

I'm no expert on them but I think argulus infestation can stress the fish and make them less inclined to feed.Have you noticed alot of fish springing clear of the water..?

I seem to remember Rutland having an argulus epidemic in the not too distant past...cant remember how they dealt with it though.

Also Lindores remember had a problem with it,someone correct me if Im wrong but I think they had to shut the fishery for a while.

Once again James, your 'touching' of the fish can only be described as inappropriate. Can't says I blame you though, that fish is a real beauty... reckon I'd have taken things to 3rd base at least
