Default Islay

Just back from the family holidays to Islay. Luckily I managed to get in a bit fishing and it was good to meet up with fellow forum member Chalky. Its all wild brownies and i never changed from a floating line in two weeks - the sedgehog did the trick for me.

Lovely pics Norm!

I haven't been to Islay for many years, I used to holiday there with the wife and children... but stupidly I never fished.

You tease, now I really want to go back!

Aye, whisky is not exactly in short supply on Islay A couple of years ago I had some great sport on the Caol Ila water supply reserviour - Loch Nam Ban. Islay is also a bird watchers paradise with three RSPB reserves, the wife quite likes the walks and talks the RSPB run, in fact she probably likes the trendy male guides and the tea and cakes more than birds but she takes the kids along while I sneak out for a few casts

I want to go back to Mull now I'm better at casting and have a vague idea what I'm doing. That part of the world is beautiful.
