Hi, Sid,
Can't swear to it, but I think the waters are :-- no2, Buttermere/Crummock,
3, Grisedale Tarn, 4, Brotherswater, 5, Angle Tarn (Patterdale),6,Goatswater.
Haven' t been up on the tarns for about four years. Used to fish them a lot.
Nice pics, nice places!!
Cheers, TC

Six and Seven are me old friend Hayeswater. The last one is Haweswater looking to the Rigg and Harter Fell from somewhere up the West bank.
The first pic is a poser - are you somewhere near the outflow of Ennerdale?

Nice pics btw,
Matt

Hi Sid,
Hayeswater, if I could reach my bum, I'd kick it!! Was thinking, only a couple of tarns have dams, it isn't Stickle and it isn't Seathwaite, was concentrating on further afield, but Angle Tarn should have pointed at Hayeswater. By the way, Penrith AA once stocked Hayes with American brook trout, I helped release them about 1990. We were conned by the NRA, who just happened to have 125 from 1lb to 2 1/2lb in weight that were surplus to requirement. They were a dead loss, as they had no fight in them. We made the mistake of releasing 400 small fish, too, but the lot just disappeared. NRA said they would survive and probably breed.
My eldest lad used to live in the third last house on the right before the fell gate and the car park. It's a small world. Biggest trout I've heard of from Hayeswas poached off the spawning redds, a four pound wild brownie ---absolute sacrilege.
Cheers, TC
Haweswater pic looks like it was taken from Measand area.
