Reports from lakes and river suggesting the trout are not on them yet, that will however change quite quickly indeed

Not in those numbers but there was a decent hatch on the Dorset Piddle on Sunday.

Here's one in close-up

Stylie, you've got some great shots in your Flickr account. I thought the Terns shots were really good and not poor as you said. Really simple, spontaneous feel to them. What camera do you use? Have a Pentax WPI but never got results like that.

Thanks mies, the tern shot was about an hour after sunset so I couldnt do anything with the light, you can however with the modern software suites add light and contrast, saves me many a shot. I use a Nikon D80 with the stock 18-135mm lens, the Nikon and Canon DSLR's are top class, altough I'm hearing good things about the entry level Sony's. But even with the best camera and lens, you still have to run the pics through picture editing software, I use Adobe Light Room and picasa for fast touch up and CS3 for the more exotics. The ones above were put through picasa(its free btw) to sharpen, lighten and add contrast
