Just thought I would post this image of the Union canal boat house at Shandon.

I fish this area often for pike, sometimes using the fly but mostly using plugs,the fish aren`t big, but its still good to have such a nice place to fish for free within walking distance from the house.
I enjoy mucking about with PS and thought the tones worked well together in this image.

My Granny used to live in the house, well one of the flats within the house, behind the boat house - mind there never used to be a boat house in those days.

I walked along the canal from Harrison to the Water of Leith walkway at the beginning of April. The water was very cloudy, I take because of the boat traffic. When I fished the place as a lad it was gin clear and you could see all the fish. Of course this time I couldn't see much but I did not a fairamount of fish like disturbance on the surface, which I took to be wee roach. Roach were pretty scarce when I was a boy maybe they like the coloured water?
