The first one has been processed using photomatix and tone mapping kind of HDR. Well spotted by the way I thought it was quite subtle. The second bar a crop is straight out the camera with an ND grad filter.

It was the darkness of the clouds that gave it away looked like different exposures.
Very nice pictures by the way, how do you find photomatrix is to work with ?

I find it very easy to use it is much quicker than CS3 but probably not as versatile.
