First Trout of season on a large dark olive River Taff

It maybe the flash, but that looks quite silver to me. Are you sure it was a brown and not a sea trout?

I went out to the hazel wood,

And hooked a berry to a thread;

And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped the berry in a stream,
And caught a little silver trout.

I would say sea trout as well, unless there is a lot of reflected light off its body.

It also looks very well fed for this time of year.

yep sure it was a brown took a dry large dark olive only use old cam incase i fall in and damage good one i am prone to get dunked lol

Season hasn't started on the Severn yet (17th) but here is a early one.

I like trout this time of year when the colours are washed out of them.
