Here are some great examples of very pure Yellowstone Cut-Throat Trout that were all caught on dry flies. The top picture was caught on a Spring Creek, the others are from the Yellowstone River. Cut-Throat and the Rainbow tend to breed in the same water, not quite at the same time but their spawning times do overlap a bit. This creates a hy-brid known at the Cut-Bow. If you look at these photos closely you'll notice how golden these fish are on the underbelly and a beautiful dark brown on top. If these were Cut-Bows, you would see a lot more silver throughout the middle and upper part of the fish. The underbelly would carry more of a white color.

What size of fly would you use for them?
What is a Lahontan Cutthroat, and do you get Goldens in your neck of the woods? Or is it too far North.
I found a website a while back with some amazing pictues of various tyes of cut throats and rainbows, must try to find it again.

Where the wandering water gushes
From the hills above Glen-Car,
In pools among the rushes
That scarce could bathe a star,
We seek for slumbering trout
And whispering in their ears
Give them unquiet dreams;
Leaning softly out
From ferns that drop their tears
Over the young streams.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
