i was lucky enough to be given a tour of the Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board hatchery at Almondbank at the weekend

i think there was arouund 6,000 eggs per tray and i lost count of how many trays there were (more than 100 anyway)

he also stated that any eggs taken from a salmon go back to the same rive the salmon was taken from, as there were roumours going around the fishing community that said otherwise
