I love little jacks, gorgous fish IMO. Where did you manage to catch that if I may ask?

Lovely fish Terry. Their eyes seem to be full sized even at this age don't they? I had one about that size take a Shakespeare Double S plug a couple of years ago. The greedy little ****** wasn't much bigger than the lure. Not surprising they grow so fast.

That one was from the Leeds/Liverpool Canal on a twin tail, just a small jack, but plenty of its bigger brothers and sisters have been getting caught lately. Not today though all the dead baiters I talked to had blanked.

Huge eyes, I guess that's what makes them such predators.

Terry

I've never fished at Chorley Koi, however, if you pop along your stretch of the canal next weekend you'll find out if it contains any pike because there will be anglers dead baiting.

Most of the Leeds/Liverpool stretches around Halsall, Burscough, and Rufford have pike in them so I've no reason to doubt that Chorley is any different.

It's prime time at the moment for canal pike as they are feeding up for the winter. I tend to catch them on Pike Twin Tail flies on a sinking line, but Perch imitations also have their day. Have a cast, and move a couple of paces along the bank, you'll cover allot of water in a half day session.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Terry
