Default Autumn on the Taff.

The Taff has continued to fish well throughout the autumn and into the winter, with the grayling numbers surpassing what I've seen over past seasons. Here are a couple of shots that I thought I'd share from a recent outing with Jenkins junior and senior!

Bushy picking out the specimen trout!

A couple of Keiron fishing and, of course, catching (he never fails!).

Great photography, those autumn colours are brilliant. Was that on a day ticket or club water as I'm sometimes up there visiting family and the river looks great.

Lovely fish by the way.

Be careful what you wish for!

It ain't quite as verdant as TT makes it looks. Think Motherwell for a Clyde equivalent...

Except, of course, the beer's more palatable in Treforest.

It would cost too much in petrol anyway

Not that particular stretch Fatfish, however, Garry Evans (Cardiff) sells day-tickets for the lower Taff for a mere £5 or so a day - there are more grayling that you could even want to catch present on the stretches controlled by this permit. I will try and do some photography on that stretch in the near future.

How cynical Tony! Some of the bags up the trees have a magical ‘verdant’ hue and look about them!

And there are NEVER any trolleys lying around……

If you can look past the human pollution that is inevitable for a river that cuts a course such as the Taff, then you have what I regard as the finest Mixed Trout and Grayling fishery in Wales!

Steffan,

That's a great picture!

And I have to say that - in this river's defence - if you can tune out the traffic noise it's not hard to imagine what this valley might have been like 200 years ago. I'll certainly be back.

Cheers Tony. The image brings out the 'rustic' side of the Taff!
