Default So far so good

I managed a whole day without fishing yesterday .
The river was closed.
The Trout season finished on Thursday and the Grayling season did not start until today.
On Saturdays i normally reacquaint myself with the family, feed the ducks, buy the wife shoes, make a meal and take the bins out, that sort of thing. Normal things
I had a plan, it worked and i got fishing for a couple of hours. It did involve my 3 3/4 year old Son playing on the bank with toy lions, demanding i open crisp packets and throwing stones in the water trying to splash me but I was happy as was he. The most embarrassing things was just as i was landing a fish one of the old guard walked passed and my son jumped in the water after the fish shouting "bang it on the head Daddy, bang it on the head, i want to cut its guts out"
So the season got off to a great start with 5 Grayling and one well coloured trout all out the same pool. Its Grayling i was after and bugging bugs me so i fished the trio with a dry CDC Sedge on the top dropper and two wee black tungsten beaded nymphs below.
The best Grayling of the day was maybe a smidge over 2 lbs with the majority of them 3/4lbs all in great condition.

I thought that the last trout trip of the season thread might have marked your absence from the photo gallery for a while. Good to see you only had one enforced day away from fishing. Nice photos!

Hey Buzz, looks like yer boy could give mine a few lessons on fishing techniques. Mine's 2 and a half. I reckon next season he might be old enough to come along. I might have to put him on some kind of leash though...have seriously considered this.

BTW - I like the 'platinum finish' on that bit o reel bling.

Well at least you have some indication that you haven't unwittingly raised an anti-fishing vegetarian, Buzz. Although there are some worring signs that he might not take naturally to C&R fishing.

Is it an Abel Super5? I can't quite tell from the glare

I have a Loop (Danielsson made) Original Nymph W on my Scott SAS; a black finish to go with the 'stealth' finish on the rod

Yes it is a SAS, that was its first outing and given the luck it brought me i will be using it again..
The reel is an Abel Big Game with a Super 5 spool, all in this this years platinum. My thinking is if the fish can see me it at least gives them a chance
Black is sooo last year lovey!
