Speers..... 80 views in almost 24 hrs and not 1 reply...Why??? Well,I think the forum boys are more repulsed than impressed.I can't speak for everyone, but here's my opinion for what it's worth...

For starters, there's nothing worse than seeing a majestic creature like a wild brownie draped on a piece of newspaper. It sucks, aestheticly and morally,on so many levels.
Secondly, the killing of wild fish, and the publicising of it is always a difficult one (especially on this forum!) and it's down to personal choice, the abundance and health of the head of species in question etc etc. Difficult to argue either way...so I won't - horses for courses. I will say though, that as far as I'm aware, the Ribble and the Hodder aren't exactly bursting at the seams with 'trophy' trout. However, you've made your choice and killed your fish but you've given us nothing but a couple of ***** pictures. I hope the lives of the fish were not in vain and they at least provided you with a good meal, and maybe next time you post pics of your conquests, you could perhaps further dignify the fish by at least educating us with some background to it's capture...tactics,flies,beat etc.
I don't know what kind of feedback you expected mate, but a wild fish laid out on the Bowland Bugle (with it's tail cut off!!!),with no background info ain't gonna have the boys waxing lyrical about yer fish.

Got to say i was going to say the same thing but could not be bothered to write a post after seeing a fish like that dead.

We all have choices to make and if you want to eat fish then great go fish for a couple of rainbows or better still go seafishing for a couple of pollack.

I was just sad

Brutal, but honest. Just what I was thinking.

Personally I like a lad with a bit of conviction, speers is obviously on a mission to wipe out all wild game fish populations in the UK and I'd say by the look of his success rate he'll have the job done by the end of next season. Well done.

Not only do we not know his catch and release ratio for his rod days before we cast aspertions, but the paper background spurred me on to get a juicy cod and chips for lunch and also to check my ISA account balance from the adds behind the dead trouts carcass. I was pleasantly surprised to have made 300 quid in interest over the last year, 300 quids worth of fly gear the missus won't know anything about.

Cheers, speers!

If you ate it and don't kill too many then take no notice of the C&R police.

....Nobody is policing anything mate or saying he is right or wrong...just proffering a few thoughts.

......seems to me you're the one 'policing' things....like what the brownie population can and can't eat. Ever heard of natural order?
