I stayed for a week at the Brush Creek Ranch in Wyoming last month - Brush Creek is an Orvis endorsed "dude ranch" (7,000 feet altitude), the kids/wife ride horses, I fish - I caught 103 fish in 6 days (!!!), brown trout, brook trout, rainbow trout, average about 10 inches up to 28 inches. All wild, the North Platt river was stocked once (with fish carried by stagecoach!!!) but has not been for a very long time (over 100 years).
Our accommodation:
A typical stretch of Brush Creek:
The meadow next to the creek:
The dirt road we drove along to the creek:
We fished Libby Lake, which was 30 minutes away and at 10,000 feet altitude :
The other end of Libby Lake (you really notice the thinner air at 10,000 feet):
Sorry, no pictures of fish themselves, all I had was my D-SLR, so I left it in the Jeep when I stepped into the river...
