Default My first Sea Trout

Hi everyone.

I caught my first sea trout late last night. I've been trying for so long to catch one, the satisfaction and relief was indescribable. Truly electric fishing

It might be small but it made my day

Caught using a size 11 Teal blue and silver, Greys GRXi #6 rod and #6 floating line.

The river was the Ribble

I lost a large fish and another small fish. All the action came within one hour, with no other action all night. I'm chuffed to bits.

I had a great perseid display too It felt like the show had been put on just for me

I dedicate this catch to Bill Birtwistle, who sadly passed away this morning. I didn't know him, but his work on the Ribble has been appreciated by many. RIP

A lovely bright fish - wrapped in bacon or pan fried - yummy!.

Thanks guys. It's a club stretch of the middle ribble. I believe the fishing is much better upstream but is out of my price range. The fish was neatly hooked so was safely returned to run the river another year

I forgot my manners before. A big thanks to everyone on the forums who has offered tips and advice over the last few months. Always appreciated.
