Smile Big Brown from Upper river Wye Wales

I got Lucky when I was out with a couple of Guest demonstrating a nymph fishing technique. It fell to a size 16 nymph of my own tying, (and not a very good tying I may add) the fish measures 26.5 inches by 12.5 Girth and based on length to girth weight formula (Sewinbashers) it would go somewhere around 8lbs it a was landed on an Orvis trident 4wt and released to fight another day.

As you can imagine I was a bit surprised by the size and it did give a very good account of itself. (And before any doubters start, it did not come from New Zealand or any other location)

A photo of this fish was sent to The Wye and Usk Foundation and they reported it in their news letter.

The location of which is only known to myself and the two guests

Wahay! What a belter. Looks like a big yellow belly.
Fish of a lifetime.
Sorry to ask an uneducated question, is it a stocky?

Cracking fish that Kim, nice to see it in the flesh at last and great that it went back.
