John

I realy wish you wouldn't post such pictures. I clicked on the link, found the new site very, very interesting and now I have to work out how much "leave" I have left, and a way to convince my other half to let me head north without her for the second time this year!!!!

Regards
MJ

Great site by the way!

John, what lovely pictures and story. I have stayed in one of the cottages that sits on the banks of the Gruinard. I could not fish the river but took some lovely wild brownies from the lochs in the hills above the cottage. As you say, a truly magnificent place. The first view of the bay as one approaches by road from the south is literally breathtaking.

Thanks, Gents, for the kind comments.

The majority of lochs in the area seem to be generally typical of highland lochs, full of lovely wee trout of three, four or even five to the pound. There is the odd exception, though, which holds a much better class of fish:

...... but that's another story
