Default Photo's with new camera

Used my new Pentax Optio W30 today, purchased on recommendations from forum members. Here's a couple of the results. Wanted to try the underwater function but a bit pointless given the condition of the river.

Nice close-ups, as before.

Picked up the same camera myself recently, just for the convenience of having something small to carry about while fishing. Seems OK, though it has yet to see too much action. I'd say your pics have laid to rest any fears I might have had over the optical quality

Cheers,

.D.

I'm quite badly colour blind, so probably see shades somewhat different to most. I have noticed that I tend to pick out colours when they're clumped into big areas and stand out. For example, a garden border with a mix of coloured plants, no matter how vivid, will go unnoticed but a border of single colour plants jump out at me. I'm useless at spotting fish in water and even worse at matching the hatch.

Also, once I've found a photo subject, I take lots of lots of shots. The above mayfly was the best of about 15 shots, with only 3 shots being up to grade and the others get deleted.

A nice trout on the W30 a few weeks ago ( in the pissing rain - not a problem with that camera).

I'd say that's exactly the right thing to do ( but still trying to get good shots with all of them of course, rather than snapping away blindly).

Nice pix gents!

How much is the aforesaid camera? You say it takes underwater shots - its waterproof then?
My own camera is a 3 year old 4meg olympus - it may be getting ready for replacement. Its not too bad though.....

Likewise

High street - around £230. I'm sure you'll find it cheaper on the net ( I didn't bother ).

Yup, WATERPROOF ( not showerproof - you can immerse it).

Olympus also do waterproof compacts - but I saw the odd lukewarm report about them on some photography fora while choosing, which led me towards the Pentax.

Cheers,
