Default River Esk Sea Trout

Went up to the esk on friday and fished for sea trout for my first time , me and my dad arrived at the beat and where showen the river and where to wade and what the hazards where , by the time we had done that and had a walk around we got ready to fish , we started about 10 pm - 10:30 pm and cought the occasional parr then i got a good offer and missed it , we then seen a good looking run and waded down to it , there was a few fihsh moving and i cates to a rise and hooked the fish , it went mental and started taking big runs ( im safe to say it wasnt a parr this time ) was playing the fish for about 5-10 mins and finally got it in the net , it was a nice seat trout and just shortly after my dad got some finnock and a nice wee brownie around a pound and trought the night thats all we had i also picked up a brownie later on and that was me

Heres a Pic ( Aprox. 2 1/2lbs )

Where abouts on the Esk were you fishing? I live fairly local to it. I wouldn't mind having a bash at that.

I was waiting for one of our Scottish friends to rise to that one.

The Tywi yields around 4,000 sea trout in a typical season with an average weight of almost 3lbs, a good percentage of fish above 10lbs and a biggest most seasons somewhere around 16lb or 17lbs with fish of nearer 20lbs recorded.

Which of the Scottish rivers is better than that? I'm not saying that there isn't one, I'm just interested as it must be a very good river.

Yes, I know. I have spoken with him once. Sometimes we coincide going fishing in the same places in search of brook trout.

I suppose that you will know it because you were contracting his services before the World Championship ??
