I would just like to point out, before Big Niel beats me up, he has not wet his self his waders were leaking. Or so he said!! he used enuff Aqua Seal to prove it, and how Hob Goblin put up with us is still a mystery to me, mind you he suffered with some bad hangovers. The blokes in the bottom picture (you will recognise some of them) would I'm sure would say, that you could not have a better hoste than Skuli Kristinsson who had to put play school attendant on his CV after we went.

Whats this about The Cookshill Boys - never met any of those people in the photograph until that evening!!!

Lets introduce the cast - from left to right Cookshill ( the Handsome one) Hob Goblin ( Skuli Kristinsson) Oatcake (Paul Deaville) Hey You ( Bob Hillam aka Magpie Bob don't ask!!) Twenty Bore ( Ian Baddeley) Neil Chandler + Steve Thomas .

In summary fished some beautiful wild desolate Icelanic Lakes for Char and Brown Trout - result 330 fish for the week - and we did not fish that hard.

Best fish Char to 4.5lbs Trout to 4lbs - I lost one much bigger!!!!!

Best flies Bibio, Red-arsed Buzzers, Beadios - my bead head version of a Bibio.
Most fish caught on floating lines.

Other results-
Weather dry and mainly sunny for the week.
Brushes with customs 1
Spirits consumed 7 litres
Beer consumed - too much to recollect
Incidents with Icelandic Car Hire firms 1
Cancelled Flights 1
Unexpected trips to Copenhagen 1
Near death experiences due to Iains atrocious driving 1

All in all a very enjoyable week!

If anyone is interested in fishing these waters and being guided by Skuli - let me know - its not expensive

More pictures to follow

Steve Cooper - aka Cookshill

Don't forget the Swiss lad (Swiss Tony: nick name) and how we drove him to near suicide over his PHd studies (the expansion of Godwits over there range) and the subiquent discussion on the calorific value of a buzzer to a Godwit chick (the lad wasn't used to us at this point or larger con-suption) as to Steve losing the big fish I was about quarter of a mile away and saw about a yard of fish leave the water. Next I saw him bend over and sob his heart out (you know a broken man when see one). Don't forget Iains cliff diving skills or lack of (twenty foot if an inch screaming all the way)
