Default Sirhowey surprise

Great when you get a suprise isnt it, Ive been fishing the small Sirhowey in south wales, lots of little uns and good fun,

So whilst prospecting in a really small pool to my astonishment this came out! its all relative so this is a monster compared to its friends - cheered me up no end,

looks very similar in colouring to the fish I pull out of the ebbw. Either its a strain or a stocking. I prefer to think that it's a strain. I pulled some larger ones that are this silvery whilst some of the smaller ones are traditional brownies. Nice fish, might see you up there, or we could exchange fishing, I could show you some of the nicer pools on the ebbw and you could take me onto the sirhowy?

Exclamation Sirhowy surprise

I was surprised with the Photo as well, we don't have any members from over the bridge , hope you boys get day tickets when you fish our rivers - £7 a day obtained from Green's Fishing tackle , Pontllanfraith,Blackwood.
The river was stocked about 2 months ago with 12" browns
We also claim the fishing rights on the Ebbw , owning and leasing various stretches from Abertillery down to Rogerstone - again £7 a day

Not to worry I havn't been trespassing!, Ive been fishing the small stretch that my family owns but would be very interested to perhaps join your club to try the other stretches? Ive been trying to find out about Markham club but dont seem to get a reply when ive tried ringing, ill try again - to be honest im pretty keen to get involved

Thumbs down Sirhowy - Ebbw

Membership is now full, we currently have a waiting list - Only day ticket access is available now I'm afraid
The Sirhowy has recently had 2 pollution incidents , nothing like the Ebbw suffered a few years back, when we lost 22,000 fish !!! The Ebbw has recovered really well though and the Welsh rivers team have recently been using it in preparation for this year's international
