Default Lough Currane

Back at Waterville this weekend after a years break. Really good to get afloat on Currane again even if only for two days.

Fishing was very hard with a cold northerly wind blowing across a lake which was well below full.

We took plenty of nice browns which averaged somewhere near the one in the pic but only 1 Sea Trout which we had to get on the water at 5am to tempt, it came to a fiery brown fished as a static dry.

As always the scenery alone made the trip worthwhile along with a superb b&b at Currane lodge.

Cheers Matt,

It was a bit painful getting up at that time in the morning but well worth it.

There has been a lot of rain in Cork and Kerry since Sunday. Saw some sea trout at the weir in Cork today so they seem to be coming in, fingers crossed

Those brownies really do go Martin. Couple of times we were convinced we'd hooked their big brothers and sisters.
