There was a shoal of small finnock (young sea trout) a few miles upstream of Peebles. Very surprising for this time of year, but great sport.
What did you get the Grayling on, Nymphs?

yeah gold head hares lug! a shop bought one too i was buying a new car on friday nite never got home till 11 30 and i was workin next morning at 8

so never had a chance to tie some up it worked though
i was at the rugby pitches area as well for the first hour and a half had two and dropped about twenty lol on a wee pheasant tail and elk hair caddis!
i thought it was good i had plenty of takes but from about 8 it was solid there where olives hatching everywhere but they were hardly rising and there was a lot of caenis too!
where were you fishing about on the outskirts ? where were the sea trout about ?
