Its great to see over half the English lads sitting on top of the fresh meat that John so kindly pumped in Stockie Bay last night, he had to, the Scots boys were getting us worried

Camshy, I'm assuming this comment was not intended in any way other than as a joke. Otherwise it would bring dishonour both to yourself, and a magnificent Scottish Team.
For anyone interested, the last stocking of Rutland took place on Tuesday 22nd May. I have been liaising very closely with Anglian Water this year to ensure that the stocking leading up to the match was going to be fair to all of the teams. In fact the planned stocking of 1800 browns on the Tuesday was changed at my request to rainbows, hopefully reducing the necessity of anglers to release fish caught on barbed hooks before the 6 fish limit was reached.
Stocking is fast becoming a real headache for fishery managers, due to the increasing frequency of big competitions held on their waters. They have to take into consideration the casual angler who only turns up a couple of times a season, ensuring that the stocking levels are high enough for them to take a couple of fish. Unfortunately, this can result in the competition anglers, who often practise for several days in advance, catching very large numbers of fish on the day of the competition. For those detractors of Competition fishing, please believe me when I say that most competitors would wish it otherwise. It's often said that the better competitions are those with only one or two limits reached at most.
This International was fished to a 6 fish limit with C&R thereafter. I for one, would be keen to see these competitions move over to 100% C&R, perhaps with the fish being carefully measured and returned, as they do in the Rivers Competitions.
As far as secret stockings the night before the match are concerned, I've heard this rumour several times over the years but ignore them, as any victory under such conditions would surely be a hollow one?
