Default Best fisherman of all?

Thought you might find this interesting. Its of a carp caught by a heron on my local lake. I saw the heron lift it out and then I scared it off and the fish went back unharmed apart from a few damaged scales on its back.

Fish was around 1.5lbs!

No spike marks!

Although there is a certain amusement factor about this story I dont think anyone should chase a bird or any other animal off its prey. However, it is interesting to see the size of fish that herons can comfortably take so thanks for sharing your story for that reason. Nonetheless, I'm afraid that I stand with the don't interfere with nature remark. Not in this way.

Anyway, worse things have happened,

R

Does the non interfere treaty stretch to cormorants? Or would getting rid of them before they actually catch be a different matter?

Just curious.

Stewart.

I think dighty's point was that the non-interfere treaty doesn't seem to cover fish.
