Default Not big, but the first on my 2wt.

I got an Orvis Superfine Trout Bum 6', 2wt yesterday. Took it out for a couple of hours today and managed five wild brownies. Here are a pair of them.

Sounds like a good day.
Sweet looking outfit, were you using tiny flies?
I like the red on the underside of the trouts fins. Never noticed that before.

Lovely looking fish. They remind me of fish I caught years ago in the St. Neots river in Cornwall with white edged ventral but also white edged pectorals too. It reminded me of Brookies but they were obviously natural, wild Brownies. Is this colouration a common occurrence in the South West?

It does seem to be especially in the upper reaches or in the very small streams. The red tails are more obvious in the smaller fish as well. The reddest i have had have come from the Tone above Taunton which flows through very red soil.

Skinhead what reel seat is that. It looks like the reel is held on with two small zip ties!

In my opinion the rod is an absolute peach, ultra light in the hand and a dream to cast. I've not read any reports so can't comment on what others have said, but if you like to go light, I'd fully recommend it.

Midlander, it's funny that you should mention brookies. An aquaintance from the other side of the pond thought they were brookies too, and he fishes for them.

To those that have asked about the reel seat, it is full cork and utilises slip rings to hold the reel in place.
