Last time I saw something looking like that it was in a film about Alaska - and it was swiping salmon out of the river with a paw!

I'm not surprised it scared the birds?

That's a great shot Matt. Colourful, great lighting and a very nicely framed composition. Congratulations. That would look good enlarged to A4 size and hung on the wall.

Is this a new camera or are you still taking the photography course?

It is the new camera. Canon 400D. I spend loads of hours in adobe photoshop learning new things everyday. Im gonna start a photography course in september. Thanks for the kind words.

P.S Taken with a really high aperture and a fast ISO speed.

Photoshop is amazing. I've worked with it for nine years or so. What really makes me smile is how different people come up with different methods to reach the same effect. There's just so many options let alone adding third party plugins.

I needed a really high depth of field to stop the background from bluring up ansd i held the camer in my hand so i think if i used a tripod the background would of been more clear and sharp tho i like it the way it is.
