Exclamation Walthamstow - Cormorant island

Heres a picture I took last Friday of one of the Islands on #5 reservoir at Walthamstow. A bit of putting, but there are trout in there and some good fishing (although I blanked that day)!

Apparently there are over 300 pairs and they have a brood twice a year. The trees are decimated and they even nest on the ground because there are no predators!

Sad sad sad,
Walthamstowe was where I cut my trouting teeth those Islands used to house a huge colony of Herons with no harm to the trees and no apparent predation of stock fish .
Lousy management and the black death has made an OK fishery into one I tend to avoid .
