Default Tweed Angling Fair pics

Great pictures - impressive one of Jason Sweeney's stainless steel marlin. Preferred the salmon sculpture though, perhaps it was a bit crowded round there to get a photograph. I'm more accustomed to seeing salmon, well, as accustomed as feeble fishing attempts allow (except for those on slabs in Morrisons). Never seen a real marlin.

And why is he casting upstream? Could it be that there's a grain of truth in the comparison to a canal?

The flow was there Charlie but the width wasn't, most of the guys were landing on the far bank from that position.

Alan's right the the guys were throwing it into bushes just warming up.

The boatmen on the Junction like the idea of not having to row the boats, there will be a small discount to rods not needing a boatman.

The far river bank now has less vegetation than Tillmouth!!

Default Well done

Wish I had taken my camera up too but glad to see those - thanks for posting them on the forum. I liked that Marlin sculpture too and was lucky enough to see one on a tuna trip I was on a couple of years ago. We were trolling and a newbie was on the rotation and when the marlin hit refused to pick up the rod in panic so some other lucky so and so got to fight it and bring it in. It was kept as it was his first ever and provided the best fresh marlin tacos you could ever ask for!
