Default Where are the Photos?

Am I missing something or just being incredibly daft, but I cannot seem to see any pics in most of the postings. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, in advance,

Jon

Jed,

First of all you need to open a photobucket or imageshack account.

Upload the photos to your account.

When you have done that, start your thread and click on the icon on the with the mountain peak. Delete the http//: bit, then cut and paste the URL to the address bar.

And there you have it

kypmeister

I think he means he can't see the pictures already posted.

JedZed

Is there a box with a red 'x' in it where a picture should be?

Do you have 'show images' turned off on your browser for faster downloading of sites?

Are you looking at the site from a computer on a network with a firewall, e.g. from work? Some security settings may prevent you from seeing images from photobucket.

That would by me guess too. I have the same problem. Personal web hosting and image hosting sites like photobucket are blocked from work so the photos linked to those sites don't show up on this forum.

Thanks for the replies. It might be Firewall issues. But, that said, I can see, for instance the pictures in the "Gofynne - River Irfon" posting. Maybe these have been posted in a different way. On all the others there is nothing, not even the red ex icon, just a gap.

I will try from a home PC and see what happens then.

You have no idea how frustrating it is to see comments like "stunning picture" or "what a fish" and there is nothing to see. It's the visual equivalent of listening to one side of a phone call!

All the best,

Jon

This comes back to what I and traprain said above. I can see the photos on the Gofynne thread because they are hosted on a personal domain which my firewall doesn't recognise as non-work related and therefore doesn't block. The photos that you can't see are almost certainly hosted on photobucket, imageshack or the like, which most work firewalls will automatically block.

I get exactly the same.

Yep - that's it. I checked on a home PC and all the pics are there large as life.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
