Default Somewhere In Deepest Devon and Dorset

I got an invite to a little Devon river on Thursday, one that like many down here has fallen on hard times when it comes to trout numbers.

However there were a few trout rising and a good hatch of grannom coming off. Picked up three fish in the afternoon the best one being this 15 incher on a dry half stone (not sure why I was fishing that in a grannom hatch )

Note the algae and gunge all over the weeds, the only clean bits of river bed were where the minnows were busy spawning.

Spent the afternoon today on a tiny little Dorset brook...

...and got a few of these little things.

The photo doesn't do it justice, I've never seen fish with such red adipose fins and spots. I've never seen fish with such an untidy random spot pattern either, it looks a bloody mess!

Tight lines.

Great fish, well done.
The second wee stream looks a delight.
Your right about the spots RED.

Well the Axe is in Devon

Two very different but equally beautiful brownies.

Will have to hook up soon for a fish.
