Lo' All
Thought I would share this shot of a nice hen brown I caught last week on the North Fork of the White River in Missouri USA.
This fish went just under 18 inches. It hit hard and then gave me a good look at my backing before coming to hand a tense 5 minutes later. A bit of prayer never hurts.
I make a fishing trip back to the US to Missouri every year in March.
Spring hits this area early - 20 degrees and overcast every day last week. Perfect fishing conditions. The river is very clear with a gravel/ rock bottom - like a chalk stream, but much wider. You can sight fish to big trout all day long as long as you can control a longer line. The fish are mostly wild on the North Fork, (including a healthy population of beautiful feisty wild rainbows with white tipped fins). The river isn't stuffed with fish (or maybe there just aren't a lot of dumb ones) but this is about quality not quantity. I didn't catch a single trout less than 10 inches in 5 days of heavy fishing. I'd say the average was just over 12 inches. All fat and sassy.
Here's a shot of one of the larger rainbows caught by my friend.
If any of you want more info send me a PM.
