Default Monster Pike (not mine, unfortunately)

This guy was fishing on a big river in Canada when he hooked a 36" pike. As he was playing it, the fish was seized by a huge pike which refused to let go of it and when both were eventually boated. The larger fish measured 56 inches and weighed 55lbs

I have seen the bottom pic before and wasnt sure if it was real or not but never the top one which is pretty impressive. I dont understand how the big pike stayed on for the entire fight with out a hook hold. Any time I have had a pike grab a smaller fish they usualy let go the first time they surface, not stay on for an entire fight which probably lasted 20mins with a fish of that size.

That top photo is great.

I don't think I would be taking a swim in that river.
