Wouldn't say no to a bit of brownie in that weight class!

I've actually had brownies that size follow all the way into land to just turn away last minute......extremely frustrating and nerve racking at the same time.

Congratulations

Excellent fish THS, what did you take it on? Did it put up a fight or was it a sack of potatoes?

I love the way you've hidden the landing net between your knees. Does look a bit surplus to requirements

Oh yes, the fly. It was an adaptation of a copper john with rubber legs. It was the guides recipe. I'll post a picture if you like.

Well one of these days they'll make a mistake.

Further up the stream I was casting to a brown that was between 15 and 17lbs. I put six different flies over it without luck, but just casting to a fish of that side made my hands tremble so much I could hardly tie knots.

The guide has had fish to 18lbs on this stretch and lost a few over 20lb.

'The Ditch'... does that flow into the Upper Whanganui?
Would you be able to give us a clue as to the round a bouts location HS?
