Default Earn grayling photo this time surely???

Seeing as how there are several Earn anglers here, and some who will sometime, as well as general grayling anglers, i thought they might appreciate this shot of a Grayling from the Earn, weight 2lbs 6 oz. This fish was caught trotting but i hope someday to catch 1 like this on fly. Keith

Superb Grayling !

Almost had a similar sized fish in Nov. on theTest, hook "pinged" out just at the netting stage. The red wide stripe on the top of the dorsal was a bright orange colour rather than the red shown - cutting above the water like a shark's fin. Artistic license !!!!

Quite individual creatures, my favourites being those with turquoise in the dorsal & anal fins. At the other extreme I've had those with gold spots on the flanks and almost no colour in the dorsal.

In Octber had an even bigger fish, but to delight you lost it as it turned on the fly and bolted upstream - 3lb + the stuff of dreams............

May be next year ( & the year after that).
