Default Anyone have one of these?

I got one of these for xmas. Does anyone have one because they do a brilliant job. They let you sit back on the chair. No sore eyes or bad backs for me
The make of it is Stonefly.

Thumbs down

the light is produced by 8 small LED's and is less than adequate IMO. Better going for a Daylight lamp.

Hi Cromie,

I wonder if it is wise for such a young man as yourself using a magnifier? If your eyesight is perfect, perhaps you may overstrain the eyes using this, I mean by moving back and forwards, for different parts of the fly, tail hackles, body etc.
Perhaps someone on here will be able to tell us whether this would be the case or not. I am not trying to put down the use of your chrismas prezzie, but I am wondering about your eyesight for the future.

All the best,
doonicus

The problem I had was that they made everything else look big too! So what started out as a delicate size 14 ends up, under the glass as a hook the size of a pirate captain's false one, being dressed with anchor cable, by a tyer with fingers like pink bananas.

Tried a magnifier years ago and found the same as you.

Yes the vice is a dyna king and the magnifier makes me sit back in my chair and be comfortable. Well there is nothing wrong with my eye sight but when i tie my flys my back is always bent over looking at a vice. When i use this i can sit back a relax. It also has a good light for picture taking. Well thats all i can say. It helps me a little.
