Here's another one from this weekend. It took a Woolly ****** among some sunken logs and tree roots. All of 5lb and more. Fantastic fish and even nicer after I'd smoked it.

I wouldn't smoke a fish that size. I like to put the big ones back.

Let me justify my position. I usually put back all my fish unless:
(a) it's injured beyond recovery,
(b) someone asks me for a fish to eat, in which case I take RB's.
(c) I'm going to eat it myself.

We had family visiting and it's holiday weekend, so I marinaded it in soy sauce and limejuice, with some sea salt, chillis, coriander and fenu greek. Then I smoked it with Kanuka and manuka sawdusk.

I treated it with respect and served it with a local white wine and it was bloomin lovely.

Cromie - you know what's it's like for big fish. As Noggin says..this is a med one, we put the big ones back..
