I wish people would stop this thing where bye they hold the fish out at arms length to make it appear bigger than it really is. Whether by accident or not many do this.
Give away is the size of the fingers in relation to the fish.
Gareth Jones of Airflo.... I certainly would not want that handle on me...no way.
Anyway do we fish for out of season Browns at Farmoor?

Tight Lines
PS Nice big Trout

Cracking fish but it doesn't count as the '5th double figure brown of the season at Farmoor' because it is out of season

We don't deliberately fish for out of season browns at Farmoor, in fact browns make up less than 2% of our annual stockfish but they do get caught out of season and fortunately get treated with great care when being handled and returned.
As for saying the fish doesn't count, well that's ridiculous! It WAS the 5th double figure brown to be caught at Farmoor this season. Our season runs from March - January 31st.

Well said Paul, I cannot believe the narrow minded drivel that some people come out with!! of course we "deliberately" fish out of season for Browns!! what a load of bo**ox, you cast your fly and take whatever takes the fly!
Well done to the captor I say, and well done for returning it!! magnificent fish, and just goes to show why Farmoor has it's deserved reputation for cracking fishing!!
Cheers
Bob

Aye a grand fish but if you were filling in a catch return for any association I've ever been in, you can't "count it". Yes you caught it but not as far as the figures go. My best brownie came to the flea while salmon fishing in Mid-October but it does not show up on any catch return as it was out of season!
