Default Tongariro Bypass Stream Rainbows

Hi all
Fished small Bypass stream on the Tongariro yesterday,Royal Wulff (12) to PTN (14) dropper, hooked 8, quite a lot of Mending fish feeding up before dropping back to Lake Taupo.

Above fish all hooked on the edge of fast water

JP, you should recognise this Bypass Stream, upstream of the Red Hut Bridge, the Boulder Reach Pool is in the back ground.

Yup I certainly do although there’s a lot more water pushing through now compared to back in Feb. Is that noggin I see drowning in the background?

Nice photos
The stream looks so similar to burns close to me in Scotland, sadly my fish aren't in the same quality.

No it was'nt Noggin in the background, it was a client of a guide, he probably thought he was going to drown, I watched him go **** over tit while wading the Boulder Reach pool.

Joey is probably better where he is today, we are in the middle of an Horrendus Southerly storm, 8 Meter swells in Cook Strait, flooding in the Hutt river, landslips, forcast to clear tomorrow.
