Default Seatrout off a spate

Great evening on my favourite spate river in County Down the Whitewater, just out of Kilkeel, now under the Carlingford Lights Commision.

Fishing the Annsborough Estate stretch, probably the one of most beautiful stretches of spate river in Northern Ireland.

Famous for it's run of large seatrout the Whitewater is also a prolific back end salmon river, which is not well known, and I'm quite happy keeping it that way.

3 sea trout to 4 and half pounds, taken on silver stoat size 16.

Favourite pool just before dark, ten minutes after this shot I was smashed by a sea trout of around six pounds. Next time.

Cheers,

J.

That hen was lovingly returned with the utmost care into the deep fat frier, soaked in a kiwi beer batter. God it feels so good to be so evil...

Day ticket is £15, and it's the Annsborough stretch. But there is plenty of nice water for wading and night fishing.

LOL,

J.

About 2 1/2 hours from wicklow. But my inlaws are from kilkeel, so from their house 2 minutes in the car. Stylie you can fish some of the rivers in the North till the end of October. The Foyle System for Salmon is the 20th of October. Worth a mission from Cork at the end of the year in the student shaggin wagon, with a boot full of dutch gold.

Great fishing Joey. My favourite is night fishing for sea trout. Next season I'll be over there.

Hey Joey,

Now you've stood up its obvious why you don't need waders. Nice one.
