Default Wifes first fish on the fly...

Mrs Joey's first fish on the fly. Sure it wasn't Nessy but I'm proud as punch. Large pike poppers are not that easy to cast, we'll make a fly woman of her yet.

Wasn't a bad day. Small and large taken on surface poppers and pink decievers.

Well done guys, has she been biten by the bug ?
Also your wife looks all wrapped up and ready for winter, but your wearing shorts, is it all part of your "we breed them tougher down under" mentality ? cause frankly that smig of a goatee is ruining it for ya

Nice fish mate, good that the missus is taking the game up.

Are they the .."I'm from NZ and hard as ****" shorts?

"I laugh at frosty weather".

Hat by Nike, legs by KFC.

Cheeky... like alot of good ladies she has the bug, as long as it's

Thanks Bill just spat the first coffee of the day down the crutch.
Lucky I wasn't wearing the old shorties.

Like when the press asked Kermit if was he sad when Jim Henson had died.

His reply 'Would you be sad... the buggar had his fist up me **** for the last twenty years.'

Joey what rods do you use? For pike fishing, I will be buying a pike rod soon.

Cromie, I would guess its a 9wt 9ft. In my local tackle shops there are a few deals going with those setups. I think they offer a rod, reel, line and end tackle for 120 euro which up your way might be 80 sterling(?).
Or you could just do a Joey and come down the south and steal our women !! whilst wearing a smig of a goatee, and Joey if you think my criticism is unfair, I must confess untill recently I had such a goatee,,but I saw the light,,but have the pics to prove my folly !!

Not the full goatie... it's a tickler! I'm sure the woman loved it Stylie.

Cromie, I use a Fulling Mills Pro, 8 wt 10 foot and a IC3 reel. Not an expensive set up but with pike your gear takes a good thrashing.
You'll need an 8 or 9wt to push those big pike flies throuhg the air.

Plenty of selection for rod/reel combos under 100 quid. Just a case of shopping around.

Cheers,

J.
