Exclamation Check out this colourful Brownie - Little Avon

Thought I would share this photo as it captured the nice colours of this Little Avon Brown Trout.

hello,

It was caught at Little Avon - Stone stretch...this stretch is fly fishing only now.

I was not the captor (my cousin landed it) ... but I thought the photo came out fantastically well!.

Isn't that the Berkeley syndicate water? I thought they owned the rights to virtually all of the river west of the M5. Do tell more or where and how it was captured.

That's an unusual looking brown for the Little Avon. Markings look more akin to an Irish lough fish. Most the LA fish have a good number of red spots too. It's a real beauty though.

Yes, the colourings came out perfectly in that photo...does it really look like an Irish Lough Trout..interesting! ... was certainly taken from the Little Avon. My cousin caught it so dont know all the details.

I have had one or two very similiar looking trout from the Little Avon myself in the past.

My cousin caught that Trout from the Stretch directly under the A38....just passed the deeper stretch, in the rapids. Yes as far as I know this belongs to Berkeley now. Converted to fly fishing only a while back.
